Mount Vernon Mills, Trion, Ga., invested more than $15 million in capital equipment to double its capacity to produce flame-resistant fabrics for its customers on a consistent six to eight week delivery window. Mount Vernon’s FR fabrics are used in garments to protect workers from hazards in the electrical energy and oil refining industries.

“We have in-house control of 25 major processes, including spinning, weaving, dyeing and FR finishing,” says Mike Woods, vice president of FR fabric sales for Mount Vernon Mills. All FR fabrics are backed by the company’s Eco-Excellence™ program and comply with standards including Oeko-Tex, SONG Sustainability Initiative, REACH, Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production Principles, Responsible Care (CMA) and the Environmental Stewardship Program.
