Scorpion W2 to replace Universal Camouflage Pattern.

The Army has selected a new Operational Camouflage Pattern to begin fielding next year. Named Scorpion W2, it will replace the Universal Camouflage Pattern, a pixelated combination of green, gray and tan, offering better concealment to enhance force protection and survivability for soldiers.

The pattern will be used in all combatant commands, including Afghanistan. Uniforms and equipment with the existing pattern will not be discarded, but replaced as they wear out. Army Combat Uniforms bearing the new pattern will go on sale next summer.
